Ridgewood made its initial golf course acquisition, purchasing Grande Pines Golf Club from Marriott Vacation Club Worldwide in February 2014. Located along International Drive, and situated adjacent to Sea World and just a few miles from Disney World, Grande Pines Golf Club is in the heart of Orlando’s tourist area.
While the local area provides a plethora of lodging options for tourists, there are limited residential options available for the service-related employees in the area. Ridgewood is seeking to convert the golf courses into a mix of 259 single family residential lots, 140 townhouses, 582 multi-family apartments, and 4 commercial development pads.
Due to Marriott’s renowned golf course management operation, Ridgewood opted to continue with Marriott managing the 18-hole golf course while Ridgewood pursues the entitlements for the property, anticipated to take 12-18 months.
