Jonathan S. Grebow President and CEO
Jonathan Grebow founded Ridgewood Real Estate Partners in 2008, with the foresight of a national housing recovery. As the head of Ridgewood, he is responsible for all acquisitions and dispositions. His extensive network of relationships with builders, brokers, and financial institutions, combined with his knowledge of various markets throughout the country, has enabled Ridgewood to access a large deal flow and off-market transactions. Mr. Grebow has also been instrumental in establishing the company’s private equity and institutional relationships. Over the past number of years, he has been interviewed by several publications, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Orlando Sentinel, and Real Estate Forum. Throughout his career, Mr. Grebow has personally led the acquisition and development of over $500 million in residential land transactions.
Before founding Ridgewood, Mr. Grebow served as the President of The Atlantic Companies, where he oversaw the acquisition, operation, and sale of all residential properties. He also spearheaded the Companies’ structured lot payment and joint venture programs, which were exclusively limited to the nation’s top four hundred builders in seven national markets. Mr. Grebow joined The Atlantic Companies in 2001 and served as an acquisition and land approval specialist in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania residential market until his promotion to President in 2004.
Prior to joining The Atlantic Companies, Mr. Grebow worked for MRW Capital, a private equity firm based in Alexandria, Virginia, where he was an assistant to MRW’s sole shareholder, The Honorable Mark R. Warner, the former Governor and current United States Senator from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Mr. Grebow holds a BA in Public Policy from The George Washington University and is an active member of the Young President’s Organization.
Brett H. Owings, P.E., P.P. Senior Vice President of Development
With over 20 years of experience in the Land Development industry, Mr. Owings is a seasoned Consulting Engineer, Land Planner, Site Manager, and Engineer for State Agencies. He possesses an extensive technical and management background in the elements necessary to bring a land development vision from concept to approval and into the construction stages. As a Licensed Professional Engineer and Professional Planner, his experience has qualified him as an expert in managing development projects from multi-million dollar single-family residential developments to large scale commercial properties.
During his tenure at a Consulting Engineering firm, Mr. Owings was responsible for the design, management, and supervision of a wide range of Civil/Site Engineering projects. He is fully versed in the standards and design practices of the multitude of review agencies having jurisdiction over Land Development projects. His clients have enjoyed the benefit of his expert Professional Engineering testimony before Planning Boards, Zoning Boards, and public agencies. He has provided Construction Inspection services on projects ranging from residential septic systems to roadway construction to the construction of Corporate, Retail, and Hospital Facilities. His experience has allowed him to become involved with all aspects of site planning and engineering, including the approval and permitting processes at the local, county, and state levels.
Mr. Owings is a member of the New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He is also a licensed Professional Planner in the state of New Jersey.
Mr. Owings technical knowledge, management skills, and ability to navigate the complex approval and permitting processes have resulted in dozens of successful projects.
Michael S. Plotnick Managing Director
Michael Plotnick is a Managing Director at Ridgewood Real Estate Partners, where he oversees land acquisitions and asset management. Since the inception of the company in 2008, Michael has played a pivotal role in acquiring over 10,000 residential lots across the United States. He is responsible for identifying all of Ridgewood’s acquisitions, as well as conducting financial analysis and institutional reporting. Additionally, Michael has built many of the financial models that the company uses for acquisition, development, and land banking transactions.
Before joining Ridgewood, Michael was an analyst and Director of Acquisitions at The Atlantic Companies, where he played a key role in the company’s land acquisitions, structured lot option program, and land banking program with some of the nation’s largest builders. Throughout his career, Michael has been instrumental in acquiring over $300 million of residential and mixed-use real estate transactions.
Prior to his work at The Atlantic Companies, Michael worked as a consultant for Marketing and Planning Systems, a leading marketing consulting firm based in Waltham, Massachusetts. His clients included Heineken, American Express, and Coca Cola, among other Fortune 100 Brands. Before that, Michael worked at Fidelity Investments, where he served as a fund analyst for the company’s Canadian Mutual Funds division.
Michael holds a BBA in Finance from The George Washington University. His extensive experience and expertise in real estate acquisitions and financial analysis make him an invaluable asset to Ridgewood Real Estate Partners.
